Hombre James Dean You guys have an awesome website...everything works, looks good, and good tunes to listen to. The History was really cool to look at, seeing the pictures of the old guys and reading what they had to say...what a trip, that's awesome. You guys really go a long way to help out-my club puts on an Easter basket Run in Tacoma and my chapter just had our 11th annual Pacific Beach toy Run two weeks ago. Services - One of our Founding Top Hatter Brothers - Raymond G. Bravo

Raymond G. Bravo died Sunday at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was 72. Raymond lived in San Benito County since 1942. He worked for 30 years as a tractor mechanic, including working for Bruce Church Inc. in the farming business.

Raymond served in the US Navy from 1948 to 51 and re-entered from 1951-57. He also was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a founding member of the Top Hatters Motorcycle Club of Hollister California.

Raymond is survived by his wife Barbara, grandson Raymond Bravo III and Robert Bravo all from Hollister. Granddaughters Salena and Michelle Bravo both of Sacramento; sisters Carmen Belmudez of Pomona, Mary Rochelle and her husband, Eliseo of Hollister, Theresa Cox of Manteca and Eleanor Gianotta and her husband John of San Jose; Brothers Frank and Jess Bravo of San Jose, Joseph Bravo of Hollister and Richard bravo and his wife Mary of Hollister; 3 great grandsons, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation & Rosary

Visitation will be held afternoon Thursday (Sept 26th) with the Rosary at 7:00 pm at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito St. Hollister, CA 95023 (Phone 831-637-3757)

Funeral

Funeral service to be held at 9:30 am Friday (Sept 27th) at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home to be followed by mass at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 680 College St. Hollister, CA 95023. Burial and graveside services will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 1100 Hillcrest Rd. Hollister, CA 95023.

I remember that in Milwaukee (where I grew up) we didn't call the modified bikes choppers but called them 'bobbers'. Like George Turnbull sez what we did was to lighten the bike and modify the motors. The most distinctive thing (other than the sound) was the "bobbed" rear fender. I was called tombstone back in the 50's because that was my favorite HD taillight. I still have an old one with the illegal (for Wisconsin) blue dot. I retired recently and came back to riding after 30 years! The Indian is a newer one. I was down to Gilroy in May to tour the plant. Mine has an S&S motor, I'm gonna wait to see how the powerplus works out. This winter we're setting out to build a retro pan bobber but from "new" parts. Should be a blast.

I really like your site, It's what biking is all about, both the history, the attitude and the brotherhood. You guys have a noble past and you live up to it. TM

Really a nice page. I was born about 20 miles from Hollister on 1-11-35 in Salinas. I was raised in Seaside. My oldest brother who still lives in Salinas was at the 1947 rally.
